"I want to take a moment to address what happened this weekend in West Palm Beach," Wray said. "For the second time in just over two months, we've witnessed what seems to be an attack on our democracy and its processes."

Wray expressed relief that Trump was unharmed and emphasized the FBI's ongoing efforts: "Our agents are working tirelessly to get to the bottom of this. We’re only a few days into the investigation, so there’s limited information we can share, but I can assure you that every available resource—from criminal to national security, forensic scientists to tactical support—is dedicated to this case."

The suspect, Ryan Wesley Routh, allegedly spent nearly 12 hours lying in wait at a golf course before being discovered by Secret Service agents. The Secret Service and the Florida Attorney General’s office, led by Ashley Moody, are also conducting parallel investigations, with Secret Service acting director Ronald Rowe immediately traveling to West Palm Beach following the incident.

Wray’s remarks come as law enforcement agencies continue to assess the situation, with multiple investigations in progress to ensure accountability.
